In our Nature Kid Elemental lessons, we will also be learning about the magical aspects of these courses. Each course is not just linked to us through the educational eyes, but through magic as well. For these course links, they are more representative of what magical attribute would be connected with the course. In Pagan culture, everything has specific magical attributes. In Paganism we call forth and harness all different types of energy. All around the Universe and within our world we create in the home. Our home is where we feel safe and secure. Like many Pagans, our homes are our sacred space. People have been using magick to protect, bless, and live in harmony in their homes since the start of time. Usually, the hearth or home was the woman's domain, but that did not mean that it was any less important. On the opposite, a safe and harmonious home creates a happy and healthy life. Even now we harness the energy of the Universe to create our sacred space. We use magick to attract abundance into our homes. Through spells, recipes, crafts, and most importantly intention. Simple acts of sweeping can be a magickal process, of protection and cleansing. You can work hearth magick even if you are living with others. Creating a sacred space while living with others is possible. Like all magick, it is all about intention. You can create a space with candles, to bring warmth into your home. Any home in this world can be exposed to a thousand dangers, inside and out. You can create a space with sea salt, to keep your home cleanse from negativity. You can also add magick blessing and protect your home on the outside. Planting sage near the main entrance of the home can help to focus and bring luck to the inhabitants. Every action you do in your home is harness the Universe and Deities energy. Your home is sacred which is why in a form it is like a religious place. In all ancient civilizations, the hearth was the most spiritual part of a person's life. The fire of the hearth, be it the fireplace, or the now modern stove was something the woman of the house reigned. Many Pagans believe that the home is filled with spirits and fae folk that with the Deities help keep the energy flow of the house. That is why short prayers and small offerings are made. When the family ever moved house, the first step is to always smudge and cleanse the home. While most would not think stones and minerals can bring peace, and happiness to a home, they can. Certain stones are connected to lending harmonious energy to the hearth. Green calcite, selenite, moonstone, amethyst, shugnite, and celestite are all excellent stones to bring both protective and positive energy into the home. These stones help with time magick and connecting with the Universe our home. We even see our domestic life in the tarot. In the tarot, each card and suit have a meaning. There are four suits in the tarot. Like the tarot, every element is representative of a person's personality and actions. The Ten of Pentacles answers any questions about home ownership. In a reading, this card shows the querent in an acquiring or living in a happy home. When combined with the Empress the querent highlights the importance of creating a strong, secure foundation for your family. The deities that are associated with the home vary depending upon which pantheon you follow. We are just going to look at only two pantheons. In the Roman pantheon, you have the God Janus, the God of doorways and beginnings. He was seen as the chief guardian of the home. Also in the Roman pantheon is the Goddess Vesta. She is the Goddess of the hearth. Meals are sacred. Before eating their food, they would set it aside and passed into the fire as an offering to the Goddess. “Home is not where the heart is, home is where the heart is lost.”

As a mom of three boys who go to public school I started to notice that some things were not being taught in detail so I decided to create lessons for them. Many of these lessons cover science, history and of information about Paganism. I share crafts for the all different holidays and cultures as ways that they can learn and have fun at the same time.
